Guilty plea by Melville woman charged in January drug and weapon bust

A guilty plea has been entered by one of three people arrested in connection with a drug and weapon bust in Yorkton and Melville.

In Yorkton Provincial Court Monday, 22-year-old Amber Gettel of Melville pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, while a charge of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon was stayed by the Crown Prosecutor.

Gettel received a 24-month conditional sentence, along with a 10-year firearm ban, and she must provide a DNA sample.

On January 17, Mounties pulled over a vehicle in Yorkton, and seized crystal meth, fentanyl and cash.

A later search of a Melville home turned up additional drugs and cash, along with brass knuckles.
