LDC Holds Sod Turning Event for New Pea Protein Plant in Yorkton

It was a groundbreaking day for the Louis Dreyfus Company this afternoon.

Today, LDC officially had a sod turning on the Pea Protein Isolate Plant that will be right here in Yorkton.

This project is LDC’s largest worldwide investment in a single complex and is expected to produce 70,000 tons of peas annually.

LDC Country Manager Brian Conn said Yorkton is an excellent community for LDC and a great place to invest. He added that he looks forward to continuing to build a strong relationship with Yorkton and the province of Saskatchewan.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025 – early 2026 and create upwards of 60 jobs.
