Calder man committed to stand trial for Second Degree Murder

A Calder man arrested in connection with a death in that area, will stand trial.

49-year-old Curtis Sokoloski remains in custody after appearing in Yorkton Provincial Court Tuesday, where he was committed for trial in Yorkton Court of King’s Bench at a later date.

Last June, Mounties were called to a home in the Calder district, to conduct a wellness check on 61-year-old Bentley Baumung, and he was found dead.

Sokoloski was arrested in Russell the next day, and charged with Second Degree Murder and Committing an Indignity to a Body.
