Drug and Weapon charges stayed against Bjorkdale man

A Bjorkdale man arrested for two separate drug and weapon busts, is off the hook.

In March of 2022, Mounties seized quantities of cash, several weapons, such as a machete, taser, and an illegally-modified firearm, and drugs including OxyContin and other assorted pills, along with crystal meth and LSD.

56-year-old Rudi Betthel, of Bjorkdale also faced similar charges stemming from the search of a home there that month, but on June 27 in Saskatoon, the charges against him were stayed by the Crown.

His co-accused, 40-year-old Holly Schweitzer of Archerwill was sentenced last month  to 850 days in prison for her role in the incidents.
