Indian Head RCMP Seek Public Help in Locating Missing Man

Indian Head RCMP are requesting public assistance in locating 68-year-old Mitchel Austin from Cumberland, British Columbia.

Mitchel was traveling with his five-year-old black German Shepherd in a dark blue Volkswagen Golf, license plate JE2 95C, from British Columbia to Ontario.

He has not contacted his family since July 24, which is unusual for him.

Mitchel’s vehicle was found abandoned around 5:00 a.m. this morning on a grid road approximately four kilometers north of Vibank and reported to police.

Mitchel is described as 5’10” tall, approximately 175 lbs, with hazel eyes, brown hair, and possibly a mustache. It is unknown what he was last wearing. A photo of Mitchel and his vehicle has been released.

Residents in Vibank and the surrounding areas are urged to check their properties for any signs of Mitchel or items out of place.

Anyone with information or sightings of Mitchel, his dog, or the vehicle is asked to contact Indian Head RCMP at 310-RCMP or submit information anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
