Swan River RCMP are investigating a homicide.

On July 8, they received a report about a sudden death on the Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, and they located a 54-year-old woman dead inside her home.

A autopsy was conducted, and it’s been determined that she died as a result of an injury sustained in the days prior to her death.

The Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Unit has now taken carriage of the investigation.
