What a summer for the GX94 Chuckwagon and Kelvin Hawreluik. Actually the whole Hawreluik family. And what a weekend at the Northwest Roundup and Exhibition in Swan River. The nerves sitting next to Kelvin in the stands as he watched the other chucks, seeing if he’d keep his spot as 1st overall. Standing next to Kierra as she cheered her dad on in his heat (that he won) where they were driving 3 across the whole time. That race was intense.

Watching the Calcutta auction for both Tanner (2nd overall in the Junior Chariots) then Kelvin (2nd overall in Chuckwagons). Being outbid before the bidding even started. That was exciting seeing the people with money in a bidding war.

I don’t know how families do it, but I do know that the ones who are in it, breath racing! Tanner placed 2nd in the Dash for Cash for Jr. Chariots and Kelvin placed 2nd in the Dash for Cash for chucks, with his brother Clayton taking the whole show!

I can’t say enough about the Hawreliuk family. They have become our friends over the years and I love that GX94 has been Kelvin’s sponsor for 33 years. Longest running sponsor of a Chuckwagon as Brennan Jack likes to announce from the booth. (Thank you Brennan for all of the shout outs last weekend!)

And the fact that Kelvin invites me to ride in the parade every year is really kind. I still can’t get in and out of that chuckwagon gracefully, probably never will. But I absolutely love being a tiny part of the team.
