An admission of guilt from one of three people, arrested in connection with an armed robbery on the Ebb & Flow First Nation.
In the early morning hours of New Year’s Eve, Ste. Rose RCMP were called to a home on the Ebb & Flow First Nation.
Two men and two women had been assaulted, with one man taken to hospital in serious condition.
The suspects are also accused of stealing a vehicle belonging to one of the victims.
30-year-old Richard Ross of Silver Ridge was in Dauphin Provincial Court Thursday, where he pled guilty to Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Prohibited Firearm Without a Licence, with the remaining charges stayed by the Crown Prosecutor.
He was given a five-year prison sentence (1,825 days), but with credit for time served, he will spend another 1,543 days, or just over four years behind bars going forward.
Ross was also given a 20-year weapon prohibition, a DNA order, and he must forfeit all of the seized items.
