The Manitoba Government is investing nearly half a million dollars into the construction of a new waste disposal site in the Municpality of Ste Rose.
Municipal and Northern Relations Minister Ian Bushie announced today that $475-thousand is earmarked for the project, through the Municipal Economic Development Infrastructure Program.
In a release, Bushie notes there are a number of benefits to the project beyond effective waste management, supporting environmental sustainability, adding that aligns with municipal plans for environmental sustainability and economic growth, as there are plans for future road construction, to improve access to the main highway, along with a regional recreation centre, to serve the local community and two neighbouring municipalities.
The project is in the early stages, with design and tender details to be determined, and construction expected to be completed by 2027.
