Sentencing Handed Down to Man Who Escaped from Yorkton-Area Correctional Centre

A man accused of escaping from the Whitespruce Provincial Training Centre near Yorkton, has admitted his guilt.

43-year-old Trevor Mattiuz was in Yorkton today (Wed), where he received six months in jail, on top of his previous sentence.

On July 16, Yorkton RCMP received a report that a man had failed to return to the facility when he was required to do so.

Mattiuz was arrested the next day in Gimli, Manitoba.
