Yorkton Council Considers Indoor Sports Facility Upgrade

At last night’s Yorkton City Council meeting, Yorkton Minor Baseball and Crush Softball proposed an indoor training facility upgrade for local athletes.

The plan involves renovating the Agri-Pavilion with turf to allow for year-round baseball and softball training, addressing the rise in youth participation.

Evan Wasylyniuk, Director of Yorkton Minor Baseball, and Ashley Benko, President of Crush Softball, emphasized the benefits for athlete development.

Mayor Mitch Hippsley expressed support for the initiative, and council will revisit the proposal during the 2025 Capital Budget meetings.
