Charges laid in connection with a pair of armed robberies at businesses in The Pas

RCMP in The Pas have a man in custody, on charges stemming from a pair of armed robberies in the community on Sunday afternoon.

Around 4:25 p.m., Mounties were notified of an alleged armed robbery involving as firearm, at a business on Fischer Avenue, with the suspect fleeing the scene on a bicycle.

About five minutes later, another alleged robbery was reported at a second Fischer Avenue business, and at about 5 p.m., Mounties encountered the suspect on the train bridge and took him into custody without incident, recovering an imitation firearm, that matched the description of the firearm used in the robberies.

26-year-old Berion Chartier faces a total of ten charges, including two counts of Robbery, and one count of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
