Increased Police Presence in Fishing Lake First Nation Amid Search for Robbery Suspect

There is no further risk to the public at this time; however, there is still a significant police presence on Fishing Lake First Nation, SK. The public is asked to stay away from the area at this time.

Saskatchewan RCMP has increased its presence in the Fishing Lake First Nation area as part of efforts to arrest Joseph “Joey” Desjarlais.

Authorities received information earlier today suggesting Desjarlais may be in the area.

Residents are advised to avoid areas where officers are stationed and follow police instructions.

Desjarlais is wanted on three different alleged robberies, the most recent was a business on Smith Street in Yorkton shortly after midnight on Sunday.

He is described as being five foot, seven inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown eyes, short brown hair and a short beard, along with tattoos of the words”public” and “enemy” with flames on his hands and “Bonnie and Clyde” on the right side of his neck.

If Desjarlais is spotted, the public is urged not to approach him but to report sightings or suspicious activity by calling 310-RCMP.
