The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) are coming together once again this time to present the Western All-Star Challenge from November 4th to 6th in Warman, Saskatchewan.

This event acts as a pre-selection camp for the World Junior A Challenge and Team Canada West, offering young talents a platform to showcase their skills and launch their careers.

“Over the last couple of years, by getting to know many scouts, we wanted to talk about the best opportunity to promote our players. We found they wanted to see the younger guys, so Kevin Saurette from the MJHL and I collaborated and discussed having a physical training camp for Team Canada West this year,” SJHL Commissioner Kyle McIntyre said in a news release. “We wanted to have the best players from Saskatchewan and Manitoba compete for positions at Camp, and that was our goal.”

The event will decide at least 20 spots for the Team Canada West training camp.

This challenge will feature the top 19U players from Western Canada, all competing for the opportunity to represent Canada at the World Junior A Challenge set for December 9th to 15th, 2024 in Camrose, Alberta.
