A man charged following a traffic stop in Dauphin, that resulted in the seizure of a homemade weapon, has stood trial in Dauphin Court.
In June of last year, RCMP spotted a speeding vehicle on Main Street, and pulled it over.
They noticed a strong smell of alcohol, and a large bag of unmarked cigarettes.
Mounties then discovered a homemade gun with a bayonet attached, along with used and unused ammunition, several cell phones, and some cash.
However, 38-year-old Christopher Bilay was only convicted of Impaired Driving yesterday (Wed), and received a one-thousand dollar fine.
