Absolutely not! When I imagine the scenario of getting into a pool with a snake, words like “no”, “absolutely not”, “no way”, and “not a chance” fill my mind. Snakes and I are far from being best friends. In fact, my aversion to these slithery reptiles is quite strong, making it a firm “no” from me. Just last week, we had an unexpected guest that decided to visit our pool. Now, I understand that garter snakes are completely harmless and this one was particularly small, but the idea of sharing my swimming space with it was still unthinkable. Of course, I had the task of evicting it from our watery retreat, and believe me, even with the help of a skimmer in hand, that was more than enough adventure for a day. My son and his friends were splashing around when the little fellow attempted to join their aquatic festivities. I’ve never witnessed such rapid movement from the boys—they propelled themselves through the water with astonishing speed. Don’t worry, the snake was removed and returned to the back alley where it could go and torment someone else. Time to scrub the pool down after that one. Yuck.
