On the SaskAgToday.com Roundtable with Chief Agricultural Editor Kevin Hursh, 620 CKRM AgriNews Director Ryan Young, and GX94 Agriculture Director Doug Falconer:

-Harvest is virtually complete in Saskatchewan. The panel shared their observations from recent travels.

-Tensions between Canada and India rose following Canada’s expulsion of six Indian diplomats and there are concerns over pulse crop prices being negatively affected as a result.

-The Provincial Election Campaign is over the half-way point. Kevin Hursh, who watched this week’s debate, noted agriculture was largely absent from the debate. The SaskParty and NDP include rural and agriculture related commitments in their respective platforms.

-Following a review, the Canadian Grain Commission announced it won’t increase fees for the next three years.

-It was announced Friday morning Bruce Schapansky’s Auctioneers had been acquired by U.S. based Steffers Auctioneers. The acquisition allows Steffers to expand into Canada and into a competitive auction market.
