Ste Rose RCMP is investigating a homicide.

Just after midnight yesterday, Mounties responded to a report of a shooting in Crane River and located a 35-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers assisted with life-saving measures until EMS arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A few hours after the shooting, a 14-year-old boy from the community approached officers on site and turned himself in.

The Male youth was charged with second-degree murder.
