The Dark Knight Rises: Some Unexpected Surprises!

Hey there, fellow movie watchers! 🎬

Picture from Prime Video

I just had the pleasure of watching The Dark Knight Rises for the first time, and I have to say, I’m glad that I waited this long! Why? Because I recognized so many famous faces in it! When I spotted Juno Temple (Kiely from Ted Lasso), Glen Powell, Thomas Lennon, and Joey King in those little roles, it was like a fun game of Where’s Waldo! I felt like I was living the Leonardo DiCaprio meme, pointing the entire time.

Me the whole time:

Now, about the movie itself. Sure, with a runtime of 2 hours and 54 minutes, it had its moments of dragging here and there. But I honestly can’t remember the last time a DC movie had me this captivated. Despite a few sleepy parts, it was such a refreshing and exciting watch.

Of course, nothing quite compares to Heath Ledger’s extraordinary portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight. Tom Hardy as Bane was virtually unrecognizable and did an amazing job; although the mask plus the Jimmy Stuart-ish Transatlantic accent was an interesting choice for sure. Boy am I glad I watched the movie with subtitles, because I’d have no idea what he was saying otherwise! The Dark Knight Rises still offers a fantastic conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s epic Dark Knight trilogy, and I consider it a satisfying close. 🦇

If you haven’t watched it yet, grab some popcorn and make a night of it! Trust me, you’ll enjoy recognizing the now-famous faces and getting back into Gotham’s dark, thrilling world.

You can stream The Dark Knight Rises on Crave and Netflix.

Catch you later, and happy movie watching! 🍿🎥
