Legacy Co-op has announced that last month’s “Fuel Good Day” has resulted in the Co-op being able to make $12,418.10 on donations to local community groups.
“Fuel Good Day,” held on September 17th, saw 10 cents from every litre of fuel sold at Legacy Co-op’s Yorkton, Kamsack, Churchbridge and Theodore gas bars, go to community organizations in the Parkland area.
Each Co-op location also held a fundraising barbecue on “Fuel Good Day,” with money raised from them being added into the fundraising total as well.
One group benefitting is Yorkton’s Accent on Kids Early Learning and Childcare Centre, which received $6,154.05 for a new gazebo for their playground, supporting year-round learning for the children.
The Theodore Volunteer Fire Department was one local organization also benefitted, to the tune of $24-hundred dollars, that supported the purchase of a new fire truck, which was picked up on the day of the cheque presentation.
$1,749.05 was donated to the Kamsack SIGN Resource Centre, to enhance programs and purchase essential supplies.
And Churchbridge Minor Ball received $2,115 for facility upgrades, including ball diamond improvements and the construction of new dugouts.
