Do you like flying? I feel like the older I get, the less I like it. But it still affords you some beautiful sites. I took a ton of pictures for my baby boys, who have never flown before.
Embarking on a cross-country journey from Edmonton to Quebec City, with a brief interlude in Toronto. The flight from Edmonton to Toronto is a tapestry of changing vistas. As the plane lifts off, the sprawling cityscape of Edmonton gives way to the endless expanse of the Prairies. I love where we live. I love how much space we have! Regardless of where I travel, I will always come back to Saskatchewan and it’s beautiful expansive lands and sky!
Arriving in Toronto, the bustling energy is palpable. Known for its iconic skyline, which I tried many times to get the CN Tower in my photos, but they didn’t quite turn out. I still can’t get over how big Toronto is (even after having lived there, and visited many times). Look at all those people down there! It made me miss Saskatchewan.
The second leg of the journey from Toronto to Quebec City is a contrasting experience. The flight is shorter, the anticipation of reaching one of Canada’s most historic and culturally rich cities grows with each mile. Quebec City’s charm is evident even before landing; the sight of the St. Lawrence River and the iconic skyline with its European flair welcomes you.
Touching down in Quebec City, the exhilarating blend of history and culture feels like stepping into a story from a bygone era. The journey that started amidst the familiar streets of Edmonton has culminated in a city where cobblestone roads and centuries-old architecture weave together a narrative of rich heritage and new adventures. I will have many more pictures to share this week, if you’re interested.
I’ll never get used to the feeling of flying though. It’s pretty incredible, and a little scary, to think we are that high above the clouds, everything below looking like little toys.
I think the best thing about flying though, was 4 uninterrupted hours of watching movies, dozing, and cross stitching. Can you tell I made this trip without my babies?
