Yorkton Elects New Mayor

The City of Yorkton has voted for change in its municipal election.

Former city councilor Aaron Kienle received 2438 votes, to defeat incumbent mayor Mitch Hippsley, who picked up 1476 votes.

The six councilor seats will be filled by incumbent Dustin Brears, newcomer Stephanie Ortynsky, incumbent Quinn Haider, incumbent Randy Goulden, newcomer Greg Litvanyi, and incumbent Darcy Zaharia.

The new city council will be sworn in on Friday
