The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan’s 27th annual gala was another great success.
The event, held October 19 at St. Mary’s Cultural Centre in Yorkton raised just shy of $42,000, which Executive Director Ross Fisher says will go toward the purchase of a new chemistry analyzer for the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.
Fisher says the chemistry analyzer costs upwards of $176,000 pre-tax, but notes it’s a necessary piece of equipment, as it can handle a variety of tests for patients across the region, allowing doctors to do basic diagnostic work in a shorter period of time.
Another highlight of the sold-out gala was the “Farming for Health” committee’s announcement that $203,400 was raised by this year’s crop, to support the work of the Health Foundation.
The Health Foundation’s annual gala has raised over $790,ooo over its 27 year span, to purchase medical equipment for the region.
