Lestock Man Convicted of Torturing Assault Victims Granted Statutory Release

A Lestock man convicted of torturing and beating his victims with a hammer and a bar is on statutory release, but the Parole Board of Canada has imposed special conditions.

The strict conditions for 57-year-old Kelfort James Keller include returning to a facility each night.

The documents also reveal that Keller has a history of sexual assault causing bodily harm and a sexual assault conviction against a young female victim.

In the hammer attack, the victim lost teeth, had part of his ear cut off, was severely burned with an unknown substance, and tortured for at least five hours.
