Our last $1,000 donation of the 2024 Christmas Season was made in Churchbridge for the Churchbridge Christmas Hampers. The Churchbridge Credit Union help put together the hampers and deliver them to the families in need around the area. We have been able to make donations in Churchbridge for many years now, first with the participation of Sage Brush Studios, and more recently with the partnership of Legacy Co-op, specifically in Churchbridge.

This is the 3rd year now we’ve been at the Legacy Co-op in Churchbridge. They always have fantastic samples to try and their staff are friendly and helpful. The one staff member in charge of the delicious samples was enthusiastic to come on the air with me, which doesn’t often happen! It’s hard to get a lot of people out of their comfort zones.

The Legacy Co-op has been a major sponsor of the GX94 Christmas Goodies cookbooks from pretty much the first year that we started selling our cookbooks on location. And this year was no different. Olivia and I were at the Legacy Co-op food store in Yorkton, I was in Churchbridge, and Olivia went to the Legacy Co-op Liquor store in Yorkton when they first opened their doors.

Thank you as always to the listeners who came out to purchase their 2024 GX94 Christmas Goodies cookbook. We had lots of listeners bringing Olivia and I their recipes which is exactly what we want and need! If we want to have a 2025 GX94 Christmas Goodies cookbook then we need new participants! And that means you sending in your recipe! 2025 will be our 12th GX94 Christmas Goodies cookbook, 12 editions! That blows my mind, and I would love for you to be apart of it.

I know a lot of listeners get shy or nervous when I ask them for recipes. They worry I’ve already received the recipe and have it in past cookbooks, that their recipe won’t be anything new, or not that special. But it will be. What Olivia and I are looking for this year is that recipe you have had for a long time, from an old magazine, an old cookbook, or a hand written recipe. I love getting those! And ones that have a story with the recipe. Even if it’s just a few short lines, of how this dish is a favourite at the church pot luck, or this is the dessert you and your grandkids would always make together. The stories and pictures is what makes this cookbook special.

You can even get a group of friends together, your book club, or the ladies at your church. Pool your recipes together and send them in to Olivia and I. We can showcase those recipes in the 2025 cookbook, and put a spotlight on your group! This cookbook is what it is today because of the GX94 listeners and I really hope we can keep it going and growing for as long as possible.
