The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating a death on the Piapot First Nation.

Southey RCMP were called to a home on the reserve Thursday morning, on a report on an injured female.

At the scene, Mounties found the body of a woman, identified as 30-year-old Melanie Asham-Obey, of the Pasqua First Nation.

The death is considered suspicious in nature.
