First court appearance made by man charged in death of woman on Piapot First Nation

A man charged in connection with a death last week on the Piapot First Nation, has made his first court appearance.

Southey RCMP discovered the body of 30-year-old Melanie Asham-Obey of the Pasqua First Nation, at a Piapot home on Thursday morning.

40-year-old Robin Kaiswatum was arrested Saturday night, and charged with Second Degree Murder.

He appeared in Regina Provincial Court Monday, and was remanded in custody to January 16.
