Bacon Ridge man charged following impaired driving incident involving weapon

A Bacon Ridge man faces a number of charges following his arrest Saturday near the Ebb and Flow First Nation.

On Saturday morning, Ste Rose RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 5, near Ste Rose du Lac, that was stuck in a ditch.

Before Mounties arrived at the scene, the vehicle got out of the ditch, and police were able to locate it, but it refused to stop.

A short time later, the vehicle was found in a driveway in Bacon Ridge, and when police arrived at the scene, the suspect allegedly came out of the house, pointing a firearm at officers, before going back inside.

The man was arrested without incident, and the weapon turned out to be an air pistol.

47-year-old Michael Houle remains in custody awaiting a court appearance in Dauphin, on charges including Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving, and Flight from Police.
