Dauphin RCMP Arrest Woman After Officer Struck

Early Saturday morning, Dauphin RCMP arrested a 40-year-old woman in connection with an incident where a police officer was struck by a vehicle.

At approximately 2:05 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at a business on Main Street. The driver refused to comply with police orders, fled the parking lot, and struck an officer in the process.

The vehicle continued south on Main Street but lost control and became stuck in a snowbank. Officers managed to open the vehicle’s door and take the driver into custody.

The woman was arrested for impaired driving after tests showed her blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. She is also facing charges of assaulting a police officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and fleeing from police.

She was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Dauphin on March 27.

The RCMP investigation into the incident is ongoing.
