Week 23 Grain Shipments by Canada’s Two Major Railways Fall Below Expectations: Ag Transport Coalition

CN and CPKC Rail supplied a combined 69% of hopper cars ordered in grain week 23, a slight decline from the 70% order fulfillment performance seen in week 22.

That’s according to the Ag Transport Coalition.

In supplying 61% of cars ordered by shippers in week 23, CN performance deteriorated from the 67% order fulfillment performance seen in each of the prior two weeks.

CN performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a twenty-fifth straight week.

CPKC performance saw some improvement with the railway supplying 77% of shipper orders in week 23 as compared to the 73% performance seen the prior week.

CPKC performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a seventh straight week.
