This past Saturday, Yorkton RCMP responded to a report of a serious assault on Waterloo Road.
The investigation determined that an adult male assaulted a child under the age of six, who was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
41-year-old Frederick Stewart from Saltcoats, SK, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault by choking and failure to comply with a probation order.
He is scheduled to appear at Yorkton Provincial Court tomorrow.
