A guilty plea has been entered by a Cote First Nation man, charged in connection with the death of a toddler in Canora.
RCMP say 27-year-old Waylon Severight was known to the victim, 21-month-old Lorenzo Cote.
In November of 2020, emergency crews were called to a Canora residence, on a report of a toddler needing urgent medical care, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In Yorkton Court of King’s Bench yesterday (Mon), Severight pleaded guilty to Manslaughter, and after receiving credit for time already served in custody, he was sentenced to a further 2393 days in prison.
