Premier Scott Moe has announced that all pipeline projects passing through Saskatchewan will be pre-approved, urging other provinces and the federal government to follow suit.
The announcement, made on social media Wednesday, follows Moe’s recent endorsement of reviving the Keystone XL pipeline project. His comments come amid ongoing trade tensions, with uncertainty surrounding the implementation of U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods. While reports suggest a delay in the 25 percent tariff to April 2, conflicting information indicates some tariffs could still take effect as early as March 4.
Moe is currently in Washington, D.C., alongside Saskatchewan industry leaders and Agriculture Minister Daryl Harrison, as part of a trade mission aimed at addressing tariff concerns. The government has stated that de-escalating tariff discussions remains a priority. The mission is scheduled to conclude Thursday.
