A 14-year-old girl accused of setting a fellow student on fire at a Saskatoon school appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Feb. 21.
The girl is facing charges of attempted murder, unlawfully causing bodily harm, aggravated assault, and arson in connection to the incident that occurred on Sept. 5, 2024, at Evan Hardy Collegiate.
Appearing in court the accused elected for a judge-alone trial at the Court of King’s Bench in Saskatoon.
Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 14 to 17 at Saskatoon Provincial Court.
The Crown has previously indicated its intention to seek an adult sentence, a Not Criminally Responsible (NCR) assessment report had been previously ordered in the case, the Crown confirmed.
