Yorkton captain Jaron Desnoyers & Melville forward Jadon Iyogun among SJHL Award Winners

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League announced on Wednesday the recipients of their individual league awards from the 2024/25 season.

Two of the league awards will come from along Highway 10 as Yorkton Terriers forward Jaron Desnoyers earned the SJHL’s Top Forward and Melville Millionaires star Jadon Iyogun was named the league’s Most Sportsmanlike Player.

The Terriers captain had a breakout season in his final year of eligibility scoring 30 times while adding 45 assists for 75 points to finish just a couple points back of Kotai for the league-lead despite playing five less games, while Iyogun led the Mils in scoring with 21 goals and 48 points while accumulating just one minor penalty all season.

Leading the way is Flin Flon Bombers netminder Matthew Kieper, who was rewarded with both the league’s Most Valuable Player and Top Goaltender.

Other award recipients include Weyburn defenceman Max Chakrabarti as Rookie of the Year, La Ronge Ice Wolves captain & 20 year old Rylan Silzer as the Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Year, Melfort’s Nic Andrusiak as Defenceman of the Year, Trevor Blevins of the Mustangs as Coach of the Year while Mustangs forward Reilly Kotai finished the season as the league’s top scorer.
