A man is in custody after a weapon offences investigation.
This past Sunday at 3:15 PM, Dauphin RCMP recognized a man walking as being on an unendorsed warrant while doing patrols on Main Street.
Officers attempted to arrest 21-year-old Jayden Peters, but he got away from the police.
During the chase on foot, officers noticed the suspect ditching a handgun on a nearby rooftop.
Peters was arrested, and the loaded handgun was retrieved.
A search of the suspect turned up crack cocaine, a large sum of Canadian cash, and illicit pills.
He faces a slew of charges, including Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking, and many other firearm-related offences.
Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
