Two people charged in connection with a bank robbery in Landis in November, along with a string of ATM thefts and attempted thefts, that occurred across south and central Saskatchewan between November 22 and New Year’s Day, have made their first court appearances.
Following an investigation that saw multiple RCMP detachments and units team up with Crime Stoppers, authorities were able to connect the Landis bank robbery with incidents in 13 other communities, including Lemberg and Wolseley.
As the investigation continued, Mounties were led to home in Biggar, where they executed a search warrant on February 5, which resulted in the recovery of items believed to be connected to the ATM thefts, along with the Landis bank robbery.
A total of 64 charges have been laid against 36-year-old Sheena Benoit (a.k.a. Sheena Harrabek), 33-year-old Joshua Meszaros, and 48-year-old Jeremy Seery of Rosetown.
Benoit and Meszaros appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday, where Benoit’s matter was adjourned to May 1, while Meszaros will be back in court on May 5.
Seery will make his first appearance on April 14.
