Hey movie lovers! So, I recently ticked off a film from my “never-seen” list: the quirky and highly beloved movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind from 2004. Going in, I knew nothing except its plot: the main characters have the ability to erase each other from their memories. Interesting, right?
Honestly, the first 20 minutes had me scratching my head, thinking, “WHAT IS GOING ON?” But as the story unfolded, it was like, “Okay, I see what they’re doing!” It’s an undeniably unique journey that beautifully clicks into place.
The cast was a surprise too! Of course I knew Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet were in it, but Mark Ruffalo, Kirsten Dunst, Elijah Wood, and David Cross too? Despite being a small group, their performances were top-notch, and the special effects were very impressive for back then.
While it might not be one I’ll watch on repeat, I’m really glad I gave it a shot. It’s a gentle nudge reminding us to learn from our past, or we’ll just keep making the same mistakes. Plus, it shows that even if someone seems perfect, if they’re not the right fit, it won’t feel right. I’m looking at you Patrick. Total creep and definitely should be fired! I’m now the number 1 Patrick hater, and I stand by that.
This is Patrick . He sucks.
After watching this trailer I just want to add that this is not a comedy, it is more a romance/drama/sci-fi movie. You can stream Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on Crave. (Seriously why did they edit the trailer like that?)
