The Saskatchewan Roughriders stuffed the Edmonton Elks on three attempts from the one-yard line late in the fourth quarter and held on for a 17-13 season opening win on the road at Commonwealth Stadium.
The loss extended the Elks losing streak at home to a C-F-L record 18 straight games.
Riders Quarterback Trevor Harris in his green and white debut threw for 179 yards with one touchdown & two interceptions while the Riders defence came up big with 5 quarterback sack & an interception.
