Manitoba Continues Cracking Down On COVID Scofflaws

Manitoba officials were busy again last week, cracking down on violations of public health orders aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19. Between May 31st and June 6th, 124 individuals received tickets worth $1,296 apiece, with 116 of those cases related to gatherings at private homes, an ongoing issue that enforcement officials will continue to focus upon. Five 298-dollar tickets were handed out to people who failed to wear a mask in indoor public spaces, while one business was fined five-thousand dollars. The province notes another business is currently under investigation for repeated violations, and the amount of their penalty will be determined by the courts.
