COVID-19 Update Friday May 29
*2 new cases in Saskatchewan Thursday for a total of 639. 10 people have died, 568 recovered, and there are 61 active cases.
*The COVID-19 situation in the La Loche area is improving. Premier Scott Moe says the number of active cases has dropped significantly compared to what it was earlier this month
*The Saskatchewan NDP is calling on the government to reinforce minimum care standards for long-term care homes in the province, after the party brought up concerns from senior’s care homes in Ontario and Quebec.
*Manitoba reported two new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, bringing the province’s total to 294. 273 people have recovered and the number of deaths remains at seven, leaving 14 active cases of the virus.
*In Canada there are 88,512 cases, 6,876 deaths and 46,853 recoveries.
*In the U.S, 1.7 million cases, 103,000 deaths and 378,000 recoveries.
*Globally, there are 5.8 million cases, 360,000 deaths and 2.4 million recoveries.
