A Pukatawagan man who stood trial for Second Degree Murder, in connection with a death in June of 2020, will learn his fate later this month. The trial of 23-year-old August Thunder Caribou came to a close on May 13th in The Pas Court of Queen’s Bench, and Caribou will return to court on June 27th, when the judge will deliver a decision. In June of 2020, Mounties were called to a wooded area of Pukatawagan, where they discovered the body of a 22-year-old woman. Caribou began working as a guard at the Pukatawagan RCMP detachment earlier that month, but Mounties say there is no link between his employment, the victim, and the charges laid against him.
