Highway 16 between Plunkett and Guernsey remains closed this morning after yesterday’s derailment of a C.P crude oil train between the 2 communities, and detours are still in place. As of last night, there were still some areas burning after fire erupted when the train jumped the track. The crude has had no impact to waterways and CP says in a news release that it is in close contact with regulators and local officials and will keep them informed of the situation. No one was injured, and no evacuations were needed.
