A Carlyle Mountie Was Back In Court

A Carlyle RCMP officer charged in connection with an on-duty incident last October, made his first court appearance there last week. On October 31, 2020, Saskatchewan RCMP say Carlyle Mounties stopped a vehicle in Arcola, where a man in the vehicle was arrested by Constable Dani Zaya. During the interaction with the man, Zaya allegedly used pepper spray on the man. A complaint was made to the Carlyle Detachment in November, and following an investigation, Zaya was arrested last month, and charged with one count of Assault with a Weapon. He remains free on conditions, and will be back in Carlyle Provincial Court on August 11th.
