The Chicago Blackhawks have signed free agent defenseman Wyatt Kalynuk (KAL-nihk) to a two-year contract today (Thurs)

The contract carries a $925,000 salary cap hit and start for the 2020-21 season.

The Virden, MB product and former Virden Oil Capital had seven goals and 21 assists in 36 games while being the captain of the NCAA’s Wisconsin Badgers.

Kalynuk suited up in the MJHL with the Oil Caps during the 2013/14 season
