Great news for patients in Dauphin and the surrounding area.
The Manitoba government has announced the hiring of two trained renal staff, allowing for the Dauphin Regional Health Centre to begin offering an evening dialysis shift, as of March 1st.
In a release, Health, Seniors, and Active Living Minister Cameron Friesen says the new staff in the dialysis unit represents an annual investment of 300-thousand dollars.
With the expansion of dialysis services to the evening, Dauphin’s hospital will now be able to offer life-saving dialysis treatment to 36 patients per week, up from 24.
