MLA’s Return To The Sask. Legislature

A shortened fall session in the Saskatchewan Legislature begins today. Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty will deliver the speech from the throne this afternoon. Before that a new speaker of the house will be elected. The governing Saskatchewan Party won 51 seats in the 61 seat house, with the NDP picking up the remainder in the October 26th election. Due to the pandemic, the assembly has been redesigned to create more space for physical distancing, adding plexiglass shields have been installed at desks.
