They usually don’t get much attention, but grid roads in Saskatchewan were the focus in August for SGI’s traffic safety spotlight. Spokesman Tyler McMurchy says when it comes to impaired driving, you shouldn’t take a quite back-road to avoid police, adding most fatal crashes on grids are single vehicle, and often are the result of impairment. Also last month, 418 impaired drivers were caught, and police handed out more than 54 hundred tickets for speeding and aggressive driving, 799 for distracted driving and 411 for seatbelt infractions.
