SGI is being recognized nationally for its ongoing efforts to end impaired driving in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) received the 2021 Citizen of Distinction Award from MADD Canada.

The award recognizes individuals, groups, or organizations that have made significant contributions to the anti-impaired driving movement in Canada.

SGI has provided education on the dangers of impaired driving, run anti-impaired driving advertising campaigns on a regular basis, works with law enforcement on traffic safety initiatives and provides funding for traffic enforcement.

In a news release, Minister Responsible for SGI Don Morgan says it’s an honour to receive this award, adding SGI works hard to ensure people understand the human cost of impaired driving.

In the same news release, MADD Canada’s Tracy Crawford says they’re grateful for the work SGI does to prevent impaired driving and ongoing support of MADD Canada initiatives.
