To mark the Day of Truth and Reconciliation, the Yorkton Tribal Council will hold an Every Child Matters event. The event will start at 10am with a walk from the Yorkton Tribal Council office on King Street to the City Center Park. There, lunch will be served starting at 12 noon, and beginning at 1pm, Stories of Resilience will be shared by Indian Residential School Survivors. Everyone is welcome to attend the event.
The federal government held a ceremony on Parliament Hill on the eve of Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called on all Canadians to reflect.
